Visual Art (AM and PM)
Visual Art classes in numerous media build skills and techniques that foster investigation and exploration of the principles of creativity, while focusing on the personal development of each student. Through opportunities to study the urban landscape, life figures, and symbolic still lives, students develop a strong foundation of observational skills. Artwork displayed in local galleries is also used as a resource for study, allowing student access to frequent interaction with well-known artists and professionals. Field trips, residencies, lectures, internships, and symposia provide connection to the world of the professional artist, and portfolio development and career counseling help students prepare for college entrance. Students also exhibit their work and collaborate with their colleagues in other art areas. Interview Requirements in Visual Art:
