Mrs. Adlon

Bonjour et bienvenue!  Hello and welcome!

I am so excited to be back for my 5th year at CASA this year!

I am originally from York County, where I graduated from Dallastown High School in 2001.  From there I attended Penn State University, graduating in 2005 with my Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education - French and again in 2011 with my Master's Degree in Teaching and Curriculum and English as a Second Language.   From 2006-2014 I taught French I-IV at Steelton Highspire High School.  I was also the advisor for the French Club, where I was able to give my students extra exposure to French language and culture through activities such as field trips, speakers, movies and games.  In December of 2014 I was offered the chance to tutor French part-time at CASA.  I immediately realized what an amazing school this is, and what talented students attend here.  I jumped at the opportunity to accept the part-time French teaching position, and I can't wait to get back in the classroom!

Language has a way of opening our minds to new worlds and new ideas.  It is not just about learning to read, write, speak and comprehend the words that make up the language, but it is also about understanding different people, cultures, and viewpoints of native speakers from around the world.  At CASA, I hope to bring this mindset to all of my classes.  I am looking forward to working with students who have a gift in and appreciation for the arts, as we will be able to explore not only the French language, but also French art, literature, music, dance and more!
