I am one of the math teachers at CASA. I teach Algebra 1, Geometry, and Consumer Math. This is my 12th year teaching mathematics. I started teaching at CASA in 2004 but prior to teaching here, I taught at Steelton-Highspire High School and Harrisburg High School. I received my undergraduate degree in Mathematics Education from Mansfield University where I was an all conference athlete in the sport of softball. I then went on to earn a masters degree in Instructional Technology from Bloomsburg University.
I enjoy teaching math, as it is the universal language! But the true joy of my job is building the bonds with my students, that is truly the best part! I love being able to get to know my students, connect with them, and watch them grow during their 4 years of high school!
If you ask any previous student they would tell you ' tough love' are the 2 words that describe me the best. I am committed to helping 9th and 10th graders master concepts in Algebra and Geometry to help them succeed on the Keystone Exams, SAT's and future math classes! I work hard, and I expect my students to do so as well. My absolute favorite class to teach is Consumer Math. To be able teach students 'real life' math and get to see them blossom from a high school student to an economic consumer is priceless!
When I am not teaching my days, nights, and weekends are dedicated to helping animals! I am a huge animal lover and I volunteer at Speranza Animal Rescue located in Mechanicsburg PA. I also volunteer with Mastiffs to Mutts and Lucky Dawgs Recuse as a transporter where I get to help transport dogs from a bad situations to their new life! Dogs would have to be my absolute favorite animal and I am slightly obsessed with my two Cane Corso's (Italian Mastiffs), Deuce and Bubbles! I am a Dog Mom and proud of it!!
