EDUCATION:

Bachelor of Arts in Film & Media Studies, New York University, 2021

Mr. Zemaitis has been teaching at CASA since 2024; however, he graduated from the Film & Video program at CASA in 2017. He is originally from New Cumberland, Pennsylvania. In his free time, Mr. Z enjoys watching films, creating with friends, and making candles for the business he started in high school (Moonrise Candle Co.).

What brought you to CASA?

CASA left a lasting impact on me––it’s where I first fell in love with art––so I saw this as an opportunity to give that same support and inspiration to the next generation of creatives. The program was also shifting to focus on Film and Media Arts, so I saw it as an opportunity to bring in computer-based design projects that complement the core film curriculum.

Where did you work and what was your role prior to coming to CASA?

Before teaching at CASA, I was working full-time for my candle business while producing commercial and creative videos for clients part-time.

What is your favorite part of working at CASA?

Watching the students explore, learn, and grow.

What is your connection to the arts? Or, how are you an artist?

I am a multidisciplinary artist. Recently I have been working in digital media [video, graphic design], but I also enjoy film photography, garment design & construction, painting, drawing, and multi-media design.

What do you hope will be your impact on our school community, students, and culture?

Having experienced CASA Live as a student, I can attest to the importance of artistic collaboration in professional settings. I hope my modeling of hard work and collaboration impacts the students as they navigate life after high school.

What advice do you have for our students?

You learn more from your mistakes. Take high school as a time to step out of your comfort zone and learn from that experience.

Do you advise any clubs?

Yearbook
