Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Minor in Criminal Justice, Shippensburg University.

Master of Education in Counseling, with a Specialization and Certification in K–12 School Counseling.

Miss. Bonham has been the School Counselor at CASA since the beginning of 2025. She is originally from ShermansDale, Pennsylvania. Her family includes her boyfriend, his son, and their 5 cats. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going to see live concerts, kayaking, and reading.

What brought you to CASA?

I started at CASA as my first job after graduating with my master's degree, but I had heard about it through my mentor at my internship.  From the moment I first stepped into CASA to tour it, I knew this was where I wanted to be. I mean, who doesn't love high school kids and art?! I have always had a love and appreciation for the arts even though I am not the most artistically inclined. Stepping into CASA felt like home and a place I would have went to had I known of it when I was in school and I just knew it was the place I wanted to work at.

 

Where did you work and what was your role prior to coming to CASA?

Before working at CASA I had worked for 8 years at an Amazon warehouse in the Learning department. I was also a full time student and interned at Foose Elementary, Yellow Breeches Middle School, and Cedar Cliff High School.

What is your favorite part of working at CASA?

My favorite part of working at CASA is getting to be around so many talented artists and watching them emerge and develop themselves. Seeing how they start at the beginning of the year vs the end and the progress of their journey is simply amazing. Especially for those who find their "voice". It's even more rewarding when I get to know I played a part in helping them get there.

 

What is your connection to the arts? Or, how are you an artist?

Although I am not the most artistic person, I have a very big appreciation for it. I love to support local artists in any way that I can, whether that is through advocacy, going to local events, buying locally made art, and going to live music concerts.

What do you hope will be your impact on our school community, students, and culture?

I feel like I have been through a lot of different experiences in my teen and young adult life that have given me insights and connections to the students that allow me to build genuine connections with them. I know how to talk to our students in a way to encourage, challenge, motivate, and empathize with them that they don't just view me as another school counselor or school adult but a resource that they can come to when they need support. Someone who makes them think and get excited about the future and have hope where they might not have originally seen any.

What advice do you have for our students?

My advice for our students is to give yourself grace. It is okay to mess up. It is okay to try something new. It is okay to not get it right the first time. You have your whole life to be hard on yourself. So, in this moment just give yourself grace and have fun. Try something new. Laugh until your stomach hurts. Forgive yourself daily. You only are in high school once so embrace every moment.​
