EDUCATION:

Master's Degree of Education in School Counseling, Shippensburg University

Mrs. Baker has been at CASA for 10 years. She is originally from Pennsylvania. In her free time, Mrs. Baker enjoys traveling, reading, putzing around the garden, and genealogy research.

What brought you to CASA?

At the time, I was looking for a part-time job so I could put my younger child on the school bus in the morning. CASA gave me that flexibility for two years then evolved into a full-time job (plus) over the years.

Where did you work and what was your role prior to coming to CASA?

I was a school counselor at Susquenita HS, Cedar Cliff HS, for the CAIU with stints at Bishop McDevitt HS, Londonderry Private School and Harrisburg Academy and I also worked at Infinity Charter School for a short time. While rearing my children, I worked for a private company in college consulting and I worked for 2 years in the admissions office of Shippensburg University while in graduate school.

What is your favorite part of working at CASA?

Hands down, the people! Students and staff alike. It's a positive environment where students are challenged, their artistry shines forth and their growth is immense.

What is your connection to the arts? How are you an artist?

I literally have none and no artistic ability.

What do you feel is your impact on our school community, students, and culture?

I was called "Miss Sunshine" by a student recently and I think my cheerfulness, outlook and positivity can be contagious. My work experience and networking connections also provide a great library of resources for our students.

What advice do you have for our students?

Be you. Wake up every day and be the best version of YOU that you can be.

Fun fact about Mrs. Baker:

My undergraduate degree is in Criminal Justice and I worked as an Investigator for four years before returning to graduate school.
