This is Mr. Wendling's tenth year at CASA. He is originally from Topton, Pennsylvania. His family includes his partner, Greg and son, Clark. In his free time, Mr. Wendling enjoys baseball, movies, reality television, reading leadership books, and playing with his son.

What brought you to CASA?

Leading a brand new charter school sounded like a challenging position and it came at the right time in my career where I could dedicate time and energy into making CASA the best school it can be.

 

Where did you work and what was your role prior to coming to CASA?

Steelton-Highspire School District - Elementary School Principal

 

What is your favorite part of working at CASA?

The students!

 

What is your connection to the arts? How are you an artist?

I am a drummer (former). I played all through school and taught indoor drum lines for 10 years prior to working at CASA.

What do you feel is your impact on our school community, students, and culture?

Every decision I make directly impacts the entire school community. I love that the CASA team has been able to develop world class academic and artistic programming.

What advice do you have for our students?

Always try your best.  Be kind.  Be authentic.

Fun facts about Mr. Wendling:

I once broke my leg and was in a body cast. Teaching/Administration is my second career. I began as a marketing manager for a credit union.
