Arts School Plans Capital Drive
Capital Area School for the Arts will need $850,000 for dressing rooms, dance floors, soundproofing and other upgrades to its new space in Harrisburg's Strawberry Square.  School officials announced Friday that the school, which provides intensive arts training to high school students from the midstate, will move next fall to a 10,400-square-foot space on the first floor of the retail and education center. It currently operates out of Salem United Church of Christ on Chestnut Street.

The money will be raised through a capital campaign, according to Amy Morton, executive director of Capital Area Intermediate Unit, which operates the 8-year-old school with Open Stage of Harrisburg.
