He is originally from Brooklyn, New York. His family includes his wife, Stephanie, and three children, Eli, Ella, Amani. Mr. Weary says he doesn't have any hobbies, but loves to go to karaoke!!! What brought you to CASA? My Son Eli is a 2019 graduate of CASA and my daughter Amani is 2024 graduate. I’ve sent a number of students to the school and really believe in programming and future of CASA. Where did you work and what was your role prior to coming to CASA? I was the Director of the William Penn Performing Arts Institute and the Director of the New Hope School of the Arts. In 2014 we created the Weary Arts Group and I became the CEO. What is your favorite part of working at CASA? The Student Artists What is your connection to the arts? How are you an artist? Actor, Director, Producer, Musician What do you feel is your impact on our school community, students, and culture? I believe that the collaboration of WAG with CASA builds a diverse learning environment that benefits both organizations greatly. Our strength is realized in our differences and desire to learn and triumph with each other. What advice do you have for our students? Always be learning and open to new experiences. Fun facts about Mr. Weary : I was the lead singer of a melodic punk band for 14 years and I have directed The Wiz 7 times.

SPECIAL EDUCATION CASA requires students to have 3 credits of Mathematics for graduation. Mathematics courses are offered both live-taught and online. LIVE-TAUGHT MATHEMATICS COURSE OFFERINGS PRE-ALGEBRA Course Overview: This course helps students make a successful transition from arithmetic to algebra by focusing on basic concepts of arithmetic and the applications of mathematics. Students learn about integers, fractions, decimals, expressions, equations, ratios, proportions and percentages, inequalities, graphing, probability and statistics, and geometry. The course highlights the math skills needed to be successful in everyday life and prepares students for future mathematics courses. This course is offered to students in grades 9 and/or 10. Units of Study: Rational Numbers and Equations Proportions and Similarity Linear and Nonlinear Functions Two and Three-Dimensional Space ALGEBRA I Course Overview: This course takes students on a journey through algebraic concepts and applications. The course focuses on linear equations, inequalities, functions, graphing, systems of equations, polynomials, factoring, quadratic equations, probability, statistics, rational expressions, roots, and radicals. Students build critical thinking skills and problem-solving techniques required to grasp algebraic fundamentals. This course is a two-period block that will utilize direct instruction, student practice, and the online program, ALEKS. At the end of the course, students will take the Pennsylvania Algebra Keystone exam; passing at the proficient or advanced level is required for graduation in the state of Pennsylvania. This course is offered to students in grades 9 and/or 10. Units of Study: Numbers & Operations Algebra Geometry Measurement Statistics and Probability GEOMETRY Course Overview: Through real-world examples and problems, this course encourages students to see how geometry is useful in everyday life. The course focuses on parallel lines, perpendicular lines, triangles, circles, polygons, area, volume, similarity, trigonometry, geometric reasoning, and proofs. This course also highlights building critical thinking skills and problem-solving techniques required to help students grasp geometric concepts. This course is offered to students in grades 9, 10, 11, and/or 12, and offered at the College Prep and Honors levels. Units of Study: Logical reasoning and methods of proof Lines in a plane Congruent triangles and properties of triangles Polygons Similarity Right triangles and trigonometric ratios Circles Planar and Space measurements ALGEBRA II Course Overview: This course is an extension of the topics discussed in Algebra I and provides further development of the concepts of equations and functions. In this course, students learn algebraic concepts such as linear functions, linear systems, matrices, quadratic functions, polynomial functions, polynomials, exponential functions, logarithmic functions, rational functions, radical functions, conic sections, probability, statistics, sequence, series, and trigonometric functions. Throughout the course, students develop critical thinking skills and problem solving techniques. This course is offered to students in grades 9, 10, 11, and/or 12, and offered at the College Prep and Honors levels. Units of Study: Absolute value equations and inequalities Linear equations and inequalities Quadratic equations Polynomials Inverses of functions Rational equations Quadratic inequalities PRECALCULUS Course Overview: The purpose of this course is to promote in-depth understanding of concepts and mathematical thinking necessary for higher levels of math and their applications. This course is part of an overall mathematics studies program with a rigorous academic core that extends what students have previously learned in math courses as well as introducing more advanced topics. Precalculus teaches properties of algebra and trigonometry and the language of functions. This course is offered to students in grades 10, 11, and/or 12. Units of Study: Symmetries, rates of change, and end behavior of graphs Polynomial functions Properties of exponents and logarithms Trigonometric functions Trigonometric equations Algebraic and matrix methods Limits of polynomial and rational functions Graph relationships using polar coordinates Directional motion and force with vectors CALCULUS Course Overview: The purpose of this course is to promote an in-depth understanding of the use of Calculus concepts. Calculus is a vital component of many scientific fields and real-world applications. This course will be an in-depth study of differential and integral Calculus. Students will discover numerical, graphical, and analytical methods of understanding concepts and are required to express their understanding through both the spoken and written word. This is not an Advanced Placement course, but the topics covered are identical to those tested on the AP Calculus Exam. This course is offered to students in grades 11 and/or 12. Units of Study: Limits and Continuity The Integral and Integration The Derivative and Differentiation Applications of the Integral Applications of the Derivative First Order Differential Equations CONSUMER MATH Course Overview: The goal of this course is to motivate students while helping them establish a strong foundation for success in developmental and consumer mathematics. The course leads students through basic mathematics and its applications, focusing on whole numbers, integers, decimals, and percentages. Students make sense of the mathematics they encounter each day, including wages, banking, interest, credit, and consumer costs. At the end of this course, students have a knowledge and appreciation for mathematics and problem solving that prepares them for the future. This course is offered to students in grades 11 and/or 12. FINANCIAL AID NIGHT Virtual Financial Aid Night presentation conducted by PA Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) Monday, Dec. 11, 2023 @ 6:30 P.M. Her family includes her father, Robert; mother, Patricia; and partner, Victor. In her free time, Ms. Callen loves to bake, go to Home Goods and watch The Great British Baking Show . What brought you to CASA? I am thrilled to be a part of the CASA community! My passion for theatre and advocacy for accessible arts education and programming fueled my desire to be a part of this wonderful community. CASA believes in how invaluable the arts are and dedicates resources to providing individuals with accessible education and professional performance opportunities, which aligns with my practices and beliefs as an artist and educator. Where did you work and what was your role prior to coming to CASA? I worked for seven years at EPIC Players Theatre Company, a non-profit neuro-diverse theatre company in New York City. I possessed several roles at EPIC; Teacher, Acting Coach, and Program Assistant. What is your favorite part of working at CASA? To be surrounded by individuals who believe in the power of the arts, practice inclusivity, and honor artistic expression. What is your connection to the arts? How are you an artist? As a teenager, I took acting classes in Boston and studied Theatre in undergrad and graduate school. Through Theatre, I discovered my capabilities and, most importantly, my purpose. To become liberated and inhabit a character is what connects me to art. Through freedom of artistic expression, awakening the imagination, and the ability to bring a character to life propelled me to become an advocate for the arts and equitable opportunities for all artists. What do you feel is your impact on our school community, students, and culture? To create an inclusive environment where students can feel safe to be themselves to propel their artistry forward. I am excited to share my experience in theatre, teaching, and preparing individuals for professional performance opportunities with the CASA community! What advice do you have for our students? One of my main objectives is to create a safe space for students to explore, fail and grow. Therefore, I strongly encourage you to take risks, make mistakes, and welcome challenges in my class. The most valuable lessons are discovered through failure. Do you advise any clubs at CASA? Not yet, but I would love to! Fun facts about Ms. Callen : I lived in London, which is my favorite city! I love going to the ballet, it is my favorite art form to watch! .

COLLEGE & CAREER READINESS CASA's College and Career Readiness program is designed to connect students to post-secondary opportunities including colleges and universities, trade and technical schools, military service, apprenticeships, or workforce training. Students are provided with a variety of experiences which will help them decide on a successful career pathway that pursues lifelong learning and productive citizenship. CASA's artistic and academic disciplines embed the Pennsylvania Career and Work Standards into their individual curriculums. Additional activities are planned throughout the year to assist every student in developing an individualized career plan. In accordance with state requirements, students are required to complete a minimum of eight activities which demonstrate College and Career Readiness by the end of their junior year. Adam Shickley Special Education ashickley@casa-arts.org 717-732-8450 EDUCATION: Master's of Art in Autism Spectrum Disorders, West Virginia University Master's of Art in Literacy Instruction. Special Education, Reading Specialist, Social Studies, West Virginia University Mr. Shickely has been teaching at CASA for 4 years . He is originally from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. His family includes his wife, Jenny; and daughters, Bethany, Abby, and Emily. In his free time, Mr. Shickley loves to play video games, participate in Scouts BSA as a Leader, saltwater fishing, paddle sports, whitewater rafting, and backpacking. What brought you to CASA? I believe that the arts are a critical part of education. The skills learned by being creative, and collaborative go way beyond the confines of what is painted, or the lines you recite in theater. Where did you work and what was your role prior to coming to CASA? I was a Special Education case manager for the CAIU. I worked at the Diakon Center Point Day Treatment program. I taught literacy, social skills, and social studies. What is your favorite part of working at CASA? The energy of our students. What is your connection to the arts? How are you an artist? It sounds silly, but in an old school they had a question, "If you could be any actor who would you be and why?" I always answered with Hugh Jackman, so I could be Wolverine, and Jean Valjean. I have always loved the arts, and my one big regret from my high school years, was not getting involved with the plays, and musicals. I learned guitar at 30, and love to play (although badly). What do you feel is your impact on our school community, students, and culture? I hope to show that there can be a balance in the world. That I can easily talk about sports, but also love the arts. I love building relationships with students. I hope that at the end of the students' time at CASA, I am seen as someone that helped them find success, when sometimes that feeling didn't come easily. What advice do you have for our students? Challenge yourself. In your arts, you challenge yourself for growth, bring that same passion to the classroom, even when it's hard. Do you advise any clubs at CASA? Esports Fun facts about Mr. Shickley : I love to catch, and quickly release sharks from the beach.
